EternaLEnVy Comes Back Home to Cloud9’s Dota 2 Team

 IMPORTANT

With The International 2017 around the corner the qualified teams are looking to strike a deal with sponsors. We have recently seen team Planet Dog being recruited by Hellraisers and now Team NP joins Cloud9.

Backstory

Carry and Mider of the current Cloud9 roster were representing the org back in 2014, when they were known as “the second-place team”. The squad never managed to secure a title in a notable tournament, but had multiple second places in premier events. Cloud9 roster was disbanded after an upset at TI 2015, but the org tried out a new squad, which was also disbanded before the end of 2015.

Cloud9 Dota 2 team at 2015

Due to various reasons Cloud9 managers were reluctant to pick up a new Dota 2 team until 2017. In the beginning of the year Danish Bears signed a contract with Cloud9 and had a very promising start. Their greatest and only achievement was taking second place (not the first again) at World Electronic Sports Games 2016 that took place in January of 2017.

After that the Danish players of Cloud9 failed to qualify for another premier tournament and missed their chance to go to TI 2017.

Meet the New Old Cloud9

Team NP qualified for TI 2017 with flying colors by taking the first place in their group. They haven’t been the most successful team in Dota 2 this year but EternaLEnVy never went off the radars of his fans. The everlasting drama between Team NP and DreamLeague organizers also added a bit of relevance to the team.

Jacky ‘EternaLEnVy’ Mao (Carry) and Adrian ‘FATA’ Trinks (Mider) are the only players who return from the original TI 2015 team. Offlaner Arif ‘MSS’ Anwar and support Kurtis ‘Aui_2000’ Ling joined Team NP back in September of 2016. The team recently picked another strong and experienced support Johan ‘pieliedie’ Åström.
